Our opening hours are weekdays: 7:30am – 7pm; Saturday: 8am – 5pm and Sunday 8:30 – 1pm. It has been an incredible few days. Thank you so much for your support and custom. Please keep giving us your feedback so we can make sure the shop and café gives our communities what we need.
We also want to thank you for your patience. It has been a steep learning curve with training continuing on the job as we get used to all the equipment and processes. We must also thank our wonderful volunteers who have stepped up to the plate – their passion and enthusiasm is infectious.
THIS FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY IS OUR CELEBRATORY WEEKEND
We hope to see you over the course of the weekend. We will have yummy festive mince pies provided by our fabulous village bakers and a glug of sherry (until they run out…). We are delighted that the Church Choir will be singing at the shop at 4pm on Saturday which will provide a wonderful festive atmosphere.
It is a great opportunity to come and check out what the shop has to offer: from gorgeous local jams, pickles, honey; homemade soup, puddings, meals for one; to scones, cakes, pastries, freshly made breads and fresh produce; to plenty of festive gift ideas including chocolate, candles, wine and beer.
PROGRESS SO FAR
We couldn’t have predicted the amazing response to opening our doors. Trade far exceeded expectations, and so we have made sure we get stocked up ready for our celebratory weekend.
As well as all the goodies already mentioned, we have newspapers for sale everyday, fresh meat and eggs from Kings Farm; and hot and cold food available to eat in or to take away including soup, sandwiches and great coffee, tea and other drinks. We are making sure we do a few things really well in the café as we get up to speed.
Our volunteers are doing such a brilliant job. We held a winetasting for them this evening, the first of what will be regular tasting events and get togethers – if you would like to sign up to be a volunteer, you can find the form on our website.
One thing that is already very evident, is how the shop is bringing people together which was one of the main drivers for establishing it. We can’t wait to see you in there over the weekend.
